How We Will Raise Our Puppies
The first eight weeks of a puppy's life lay the foundation for future confidence, resilience, and adaptability. Our puppies are raised in our home and follow a structured early development program designed to give them the best possible start.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
Beginning at the appropriate age, our puppies complete the Bio Sensor (Super Dog) Early Neurological Stimulation program. This consists of five gentle exercises performed once daily over a short period of development, including:
- Tactile stimulation between the toes
- Holding each puppy in several different positions
- Brief head-up and head-down positioning
- A short (3–5 second) exposure to a cool surface
These exercises are designed to provide mild, age-appropriate stimulation during an important stage of neurological development.
Daily Handling & Confidence Building
Every puppy is handled multiple times each day by our family, including our children. They receive gentle handling, cuddles, and puppy-safe massage to help them become comfortable with human touch and prepare them for future grooming and veterinary care.
As they grow, puppies are introduced to:
- Being picked up and carried by different people
- Gentle handling of their ears, paws, mouth, and tail
- Wearing a collar
- Basic grooming with a soft brush
- Nail trimming
- Crate exposure
- Short car rides (when age-appropriate)
Socialization & Desensitization
Our goal is to expose puppies to everyday experiences in a positive, controlled way while they are still with us.
They are gradually introduced to:
- Vacuum cleaners
- Dishwashers
- Doorbells
- Television and music
- Pots and pans
- Household conversations
- Different flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet, grass, gravel, concrete)
- Stairs and small obstacles
- Umbrellas, hats, sunglasses, and other unusual objects
- People of different ages
- New scents, including herbs, spices, flowers, pine needles, leather, and other safe household and outdoor scents
These experiences help puppies build confidence and adapt more easily to life in their new homes.
Nutrition
Our puppies are weaned onto a combination of high-quality puppy kibble and a balanced raw diet. Families receive transition food and feeding instructions to help make the move to their new home as smooth as possible.
Raised in Our Home
Our puppies are never raised in a kennel. They are part of our family's daily life from birth until they go home.
By the time they leave for their new families, they have experienced daily interaction with adults and children, regular handling, structured enrichment, and a variety of positive experiences that help prepare them for life as confident, well-adjusted family companions.
